Moore, OK Before and After

Moore, OK

Before

After

We may live in Tornado Alley but it's also called the Bible Belt.  This is a State where people come together and help each other and show their LOVE!

I LOVE OKLAHOMA!!
We are OKLAHOMA STRONG!!!

Plaza Elementary Neighborhood

Plaza Elementary School to the right
and the neighborhood that was lost.

As we were walking down these roads, a woman driving towards us stopped in the middle of the road to tell us Thank You for helping their community.  She told us that the sky was clear on that afternoon and she was watching a handicapped boy and cleaning her kitchen.  She then saw a bright light, so bright it blinded her and then the house started to rumble.  She knew that was a sign from God to get out.  She got the handicapped boy into her car and drove to Norman to seek shelter.  When she got home, this is what she saw.

This is the Memorial at the School for the Children and Teachers at Plaza Elementary.  The woman who stopped in the middle of the road to us her story is making it her mission to have storm shelters in
ALL SCHOOLS to SAVE THE CHILDREN!

I wish we all had one of these Safe Rooms

7 Children and a Teacher were lost at the school

Helping Mr. Foley

Team YPC
This is our Team from YPC that drove to Moore to help with the clean-up.
It was a great feeling to really get in there and get our hands dirty.

Team Mississippi

These guys drove up from Mississippi to help with clean-up
They were here for a couple of days and they were part of our team for the day.

Mr. Foley
We drove to Mr. Foley's house to start helping with clean-up.
It was quit the chore to get there, so many roads are closed and so
much devastation.

This is the back of Mr. Foley's house.  There is so much damage, it took us all day to clean the yard.  There is still barns that need to come down and the house will be bull dozed and rebuilt.

I asked Mr. Foley where he was when the tornado hit, he saw it coming and he and his wife ran to the neighbors house, they had a safe room. He saw the tornado hit his house before he even got the neighbors door closed.  He is 84 years young and he taught us that everything is 'just stuff' and they are thankful for getting out alive.  It was a honor to help this man and his wife with the clean-up.  He was so grateful for our help but we were honored to be his helpers.
