Going Home
The nurse taught me how to feed John through the tube. It seems pretty simple! They told us we get to go home today. It took until 6:00 in the evening to get the release! But we made it home. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Waiting for the Results
The MRI revealed a stroke in the brain stem. The doctors were a bit baffled because he didn't have all of the other symptoms that go along with a brain stem stroke. I would call this a huge blessing :) Tonight they turn off the NG line so he can go into surgery in the morning for the feeding tube in his stomach. In the meantime he is on Facebook!

They moved us up to the 5th Floor into a private room. Now we have a big bathroom, a sofa bed and a recliner. Not to mention the snack lounge just a few doors down and everything is free. Still Waiting on results from the MRI

Since He Can't Eat...
John can't swallow but he certainly can taste. So today we gave him some pudding. He can taste it and then spit it out. Shortly after this they put the NG line in to give him some nutrition. He hadn't eaten anything for 2 days.

John had a stroke
John went to church tonight, just like any other Wednesday. He said it felt like he had a ice cream headache just as he was leaving but he didn't give it much thought. He drove to Sonic and ordered 2 sonic blasts and realized he couldn't swallow. He came walking in the door, holding these 2 ice cream cups in his hands and says to me "I think I had a stroke, I can't swallow" the words out if my mouth were "then why did you stop by sonic". He then said to get him to the hospital, I did and his blood pressure was 215/119. They did tests immediately and Claremore transported him to Tulsa within a hour. Tashauna, Myself and Jenny slept on the floor the first 2 nights waiting on a private room.
